Body in Mind Pilates, Derby is based in the tranquil setting of Darley Park, just a 5 minute drive from the City Centre. The Old Stable Studios are set in the courtyard of the former Darley Hall, and form part of the recently redeveloped Grade II Listed stables and bakehouse.

The new studios house a fully equipped Pilates Studio boasting all the latest equipment from Balanced Body, California. We also have a Mat Class Studio with a programme of Pilates, Yoga and Wellbeing classes and a Therapy Suite.

There is free parking close by and disabled access to the Studio Equipment sessions.

We keep class sizes low and employ a range of practitioners with a wealth of experience, which ensures that clients get the best service around.

Whether you are trying a class for the first time, coming back from injury, a sports enthusiast or looking for a new approach to exercise then Body in Mind Pilates, Derby offer programmes tailored specifically to your needs. The Pilates Method is a contemporary and innovative approach to exercise uniting the mind and body through a system of controlled, flowing, efficient exercises. Joseph Pilates originally called his approach “Controlology” and developed the technique incorporating ideas from Eastern and Western philosophies. Pilates was a pioneer of exercise, constantly inventing new equipment and developing his technique for better results. Although over 80 years old the technique continues to develop with dedicated Pilates contemporaries the world over helping to ensure its relevance for the body of today.

A Body in Mind Pilates programme promotes an increase in flexibility, muscle endurance, strength, balance and proprioception – so not only is the body challenged but awareness is developed too. Exercises are tailored to the individual and the method works using the fundamental principles to accommodate all body types.

Pilates can re-educate the way we exercise. It helps correct years of habitual movement, postural imbalance and combats the stresses and strains of our busy everyday lives.
